JC Wegman

After graduating from CalArts in 1989, JC began work as a writer for Ralph Bakshi's "Mighty Mouse" Saturday morning cartoon during the animation boom of the 1980's. When the show was canceled he went to work on the first season of "The Simpsons" as a layout artist. After three years on the show he moved to puppetry, an constant secondary obsession, and was hired by Lollapalooza in 1993 to travel with the rock carnival and perform his rude puppet show "The Runties". Soon after, it was back to animation on his first feature film experience, "Space Jam" working as an animator. In 1997, he continued in film working as art director on "South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut." In between that and working eventually on "The Simpsons Movie" as a storyboard artist, JC began to write, produce, and pitch his original concepts all the while combining green screen models, live action, and animation in new and original ways. Generally making a mix of styles and approaches lead to a Special Effects job on the film "Lost River", Ryan Gosling's directorial debut.
